Commonly Asked Questions
What do I wear?
No white or light colors. Any combination of dark and bright colors looks great.
I always suggest throwing all the clothes on a bed and seeing how they look together. Denim, deep pinks and navy all photograph really well. Throw in a black, brown or dark grey with khaki to avoid looking like a box of M&M's.
Be aware, a picture with just one color is not as professional looking, so throw in at least 2 or three colors. See photos in the gallery for examples.
When is the best time to take pictures?
Usually an hour or two before sunset is best depending on the location.
Can we shoot at my home?
It is a possibility, but with very young children, it is always better to shoot at a location unfamiliar to them. Also, the locations I frequent are usually cleaner with regards to neighbor's homes and electrical lines. AND, the lighting is more familiar to me and therefore more consistent.
How long does it take to get the images?
You will be able to view your images 3-5 days after the shoot.
Which is your favorite location?
I like the entrance to matheson hammock park. It is not the beach, and therefore less windy. There are trees and shade and various "looks." It is the best location for the very young, large groups and the elderly. Also, there is no fee, unlike many of the other locations.
